The majority of both groups moved to the Potomac Gardens area from other parts of the District of Columbia. Only a small number moved from outside of D.C.

We don’t know if these individuals moved to the area for economic reasons. For instance, those who live outside may have moved to the Hill East neighborhood because their incomes went up, where as those who live in Potomac Gardens may have moved there because their incomes went down. This is an issue that we hope to explore in the documentary.
